In cooperation with the University's IT Security Services, Technology Services has put into place reporting procedures for IT security incidents. Per SPG 601.25 adopted July 2006, every user of University Information Technology resources must promptly report all incidents to their unit information security coordinator.
Please record and save the name of your information security coordinator. Your coordinator is:
IT security incidents may include:
- Loss or theft of equipment (particularly laptops)
- Virus notice found from Virus Scan
- Suspect someone has been using your login credentials
- Suspect unauthorized access to sensitive information
If there is any doubt whether this is an IT security incident, please report it anyway.
When users promptly report incidents, IT security personnel can more quickly mitigate any damage and restore normal operations. Thank you for your help in this area.
