Trotter Multicultural Center

This fall a search for a new director of the Trotter Multicultural Center was launched. The search process has been informed by feedback from students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni. The search has also been led by a Search Advisory Committee that is comprised of students, staff, faculty, and alumni and assisted by the executive search firm Spelman Johnson.​

The University of Michigan Women of Color Task Force (WCTF) will host its 36th annual career conference on Friday, March 2, 2018. Conference attendees may choose from 21 workshop sessions designed to support their professional and personal development.

Racial injustice is a hot topic with little discussion between races on how to take steps toward reconciliation. Whether colleagues or students, issues of race surround us, but open and honest conversations seem to be actively avoided. This session will look to the reasons why conversations on race are not happening and discuss tools to create a safer climate to promote dialogue around racial issues.

These offerings are available to Student Life Staff and our colleagues, are voluntary and are designed to build staff skills and capacities for advancing University and Divisional strategic priorities including the University’s DEI strategic plan.  

American Heritage Month sticker

The Arab Heritage Month celebration begins on February 17 and concludes in mid-April. This year, we want to bring a particular focus on broadening the conversation about inclusion and exclusion, with the hopes of engaging in dialogue about the nuances of language, culture, and geography.

It's that time again! After a successful launch of the program this fall, we have decided to coordinate MEAL @ Michigan this semester!  This winter's dates are March 9 & 10, and I hope that you will consider hosting a few international students at your home.
